I was born in rural Pennsylvania, U.S.A. in 1972. Drawing was my earliest hobby. Since my Mother was a semi-professional artist, I had many chances as a child to try out different art techniques. As a teenager I took part in several weekend courses in drawing and painting at the University of Pennsylvania in State College, Pa.
In 1990 I began studying interior design at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There I learned drawing, art history, color theory, and graphic design. Later, I transferred to the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa. where I finished my degree. I worked successfully as an interior designer full time until 2003.
Because my job as an interior designer wasn’t keeping me busy enough, I began a second degree in English and comparative literature at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, which I successfully completed with a Master of Arts in 2004. I still love to read and write, but I decided not to make Literary Science my profession.
In 2003 I moved to Munich, Germany and became a mom. Drawing and painting remained my hobby, until, in late 2017, I made it my full-time job.
